Prof. Shalini R Urs

Prof. Shalini Urs conceptualized and founded the autonomous ISIM institute (International School of Information Management) at the University of Mysore, with munificent grants from the Ford Foundation in collaboration with University of Pittsburgh, Syracuse University, University of Michigan in USA and Dalhousie University in Canada.

She has also spearheaded the digital library movement in India, through her globally recognised project Vidyanidhi Digital Library project.

She has been a Fulbright scholar, recipient of NDLTD–Adobe Leadership award, Emerald Research Fund Award, and Mortenson Distinguished Lecturer – 2010 from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, and others. She has served as an UNESCO expert on several occassions. Travelled widely and invited to speak at many international conferences and workshops, she is internationally recognised in the world of digital libraries.

The InfoVision summit series was initiated by Shalini Urs in 2005.

Prior to Intuit, Vijay Anand was a leader in the enterprise software industry having led successful product teams and engineering centers for Oracle and Sun Microsystems in India and the US. He is a member of several industry and technical organizations including TiE and NASSCOM and the Association of Computing Machinery in the US. Prior to his move to India, Anand was based in the US for over 14 years that included engineering leadership roles at iPlanet, and earlier as a technical leader at IBM.

Anand, a regular featured speaker at conferences has masters degrees from the University of Arizona in Computer Science and from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Girish Venkatachaliah

During the decade and half career with IBM, he has served in a variety of roles including Strategy, Technical alliances, ISV management, Server release Management, and as a developer. Girish has multiple patent-pending disclosures and published works in top rated conferences like VLDB and ICDE.

Girish graduated with a Bachelors in Engineering in Electronics. He also has a Masters in Engineering Management, and a Masters in Computer Science. Further, he has an MBA from the prestigious dual degree program of University of California, Berkeley and Columbia University, New York.

Susheela holds a Master of Science in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. She is working on her doctoral thesis on “the global strategies of emerging Indian multinationals”.

Mr. Raghupathi has close to 26 years of experience spanning various industries. Presently Raghu heads the India business for Infosys. A part of the start-up team for the India business unit, Raghu has built up a considerable traction in Energy, Utilities & Manufacturing which he used this to head.

Prior to this Raghu spent considerable time in the US where he was a part of the leadership team that built the Enterprise Solutions practice. In a research career with GE, IBM, and MIT, Abhinanda’s publications and patents have been in applying statistical and probabilistic methods to areas such as wind energy forecasting, bond market analytics, biomedical text mining, content-based image retrieval, wireless network interference, gravitational wave detection, etc. He graduated from the Indian Statistical Institute and Stanford University.

Mr. Ramesh presently, Center Head (& Vice President- Products), Progress Software Hyderabad labs, responsible for leading product development at the Hyderabad Development center, and is responsible for providing strategic guidance to all the product teams, scale the product operations, with specific focus on cross-product considerations and Common Technology for the SOA/RPM and Data integration products.

Labs Bangalore, and a Principal Scientist at Fair Isaac Research in San Diego, California. Dr. Kumar has over fifteen years of experience in applying and innovating machine learning, statistical pattern recognition, and data mining algorithms to hard prediction problems in a wide variety of domains including information retrieval, web analytics, text mining, computer vision, retail data mining, risk and fraud analytics, and bioinformatics. He has published conference papers, journal papers, and book chapters and holds several patents in these areas. Dr. Kumar received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Masters in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, USA.
