International Workshop on Global Collaboration of Information Schools
(WiS 2013)

Call for Papers

Like previous years, this year the International Workshop on Global Collaboration of Information Schools (WIS 2013) will be held on the platform of ICADL 2013 on December 9, 2013. The first half of the Workshop will comprise research paper sessions which is being organised jointly with the Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC) of ICADL 2013. The second half of the day, which will be held under the banner of CiSAP (Consortium of iSchools for Asia-Pacific) (www.cisap.asia), will comprise a round table discussion and may include some invited position papers on future collaborations among members of the CiSAP and the Library & Information Science (LIS) community.

This is a call for papers for the research paper presentation session of DSC 2013. This call is specifically directed towards the current Graduate/PhD students and young researchers of the CiSAP and LIS community.

Doctoral Student Consortium: Call for Papers

We invite doctoral students and young researchers to submit extended abstracts to, and participate in, the joint session on WiS 2013 and DSC 2013. The consortium is intended for doctoral students who have a specific research proposal and some preliminary results on topics related to digital libraries, especially on the theme of Social Media and Community Networks. Submissions are solicited from doctoral students who may be at any stage of their doctoral studies. Students who have sufficient time prior to completing their theses or dissertations are especially encouraged to submit their proposals, so that they can benefit from the experiences they gain at the Consortium. Students who are looking to pursue doctoral studies, but are not yet registered at any university as doctoral students, are also encouraged to submit their proposals. The Consortium will offer a critical but supportive opportunity for doctoral students to discuss their research in progress, and to receive feedback and advice.

Students are required to submit a 3-page extended abstract describing their research. The extended abstract should clearly state the results already obtained, and a plan for the thesis or dissertation. Submissions relating to any aspect of digital library research are welcome, especially those conforming to the main theme and topics of ICADL 2013 (http://www.isim.ac.in/ICADL2013/Call_for_papers.html).

Submission Information

Submissions must be no longer than 3 pages. All submissions must be written in English, and must follow Springer's formatting guidelines (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). Papers are to be submitted via the Consortium's EasyChair page (https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icadldc2013). All submissions will be reviewed by a program committee before being accepted for presentation.
